ABOUT MY ART

I am an acrylic painter in my early twenties living in Mount Olive, North Carolina. Where I live, I am surrounded by a wide range of rural scenery, from local farms occupying wide fields of crops, cattle and other livestock, and old metal and wooden barns with their own unique character. I am drawn to capturing the beauty that I am surrounded by through painting. Other than painting rural Eastern North Carolina scenes, I am also drawn to painting other NC landscapes, whether it be the coastal region, the high country, animals, and other sceneries.

My style overall has progressed from a folk landscape style to what is now more of a loose, textured, contemporary style that has a bright and colorful feel. I love making pieces that are whimsical, fully textured, and colorfully bright.

My most famous pieces would have to be my rooster paintings. What started out as a random art project at community college has now progressed into a series of fun, colorful, and thick textured roosters that come in a variety of sizes.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I have always enjoyed to draw. I never really painted until high school and ended up enjoying painting even more. I continued to paint and started selling some of my work to different people at an early age.

I currently create my pieces in my art studio at home. I sell my work online through Etsy, social media, and different galleries. I work with art galleries such as Art House Charlotte, Art Mecca of Charleston, and East Carolina ArtSpace where I am able to display and sell my work to clients.

I have done commission paintings for different clients, businesses, and restaurants in the local area. I have also had the opportunity to display my art in areas of business in which I have sold my art.

I also live on my family farm which occupies turkeys, pigs, and cows. I help on the farm as much as possible when I am not working and painting.

I have recently graduated from Wayne Community College with an Associates Degree in Business Administration.

I really enjoy to cook! I have worked in the past under Vivian Howard, who is a celebrity chef, cookbook author, television show host on PBS. I have worked at her nation wide famous restaurant, Chef & the Farmer in Kinston, NC as a line cook for five years. When I am at home, I love creating new food!
